How to Apply a LUT in Final Cut Pro
A seven-step walkthrough for loading your FOCL Media LUTs and creating a clean, cinematic grade.
Step 1
Select the clip (or adjustment layer) you want to colour grade.
Step 2
Open the Effects Browser (bottom right of the screen) and search for Custom LUT.
Step 3
Drag and drop Custom LUT onto your selected clip or adjustment layer.
Step 4
Open the Inspector (top right), then under Custom LUT click Choose Custom LUT.
Step 5
Locate your downloaded LUT folder and import it.
Step 6
Your LUTs will now appear inside the Custom LUT dropdown menu. Choose the LUT you would like to use.
Step 7
Adjust exposure, contrast and white balance to achieve the best possible cinematic look.
